Chicanos Por La Causa President and CEO David Adame has resigned to pursue other opportunities, the organization announced Thursday.

“The Board of Directors is grateful for Mr. Adame’s leadership and many contributions to CPLC as CEO and other leadership positions over the last 15 years,” Delma Herrera, chair of Chicanos Por La Causa Board of Directors, shared in a press release. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

The organization’s executive search will begin over the next few days, he noted. In the interim, Alicia Nuñez will assume the responsibilities of acting president and CEO.

“We have full confidence that she will help lead CPLC into a new chapter of success,” Herrera stated.

CPLC is dedicated to empowering lives in underserved communities across the country through education, housing, health, economic development, and advocacy efforts.

Chicanos Por La Causa was formed in 1969 to fight discrimination against the Mexican American community. Inspired by Dolores Huerta and Cesar Chavez. Today, CPLC provides services to people of all backgrounds while honoring its Mexican-American roots.

With offices in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas, the group says it impacts almost 1 million lives every year.

The Phoenix office is located at 1112 E. Buckeye Road.
